Van megoldás a horkolásra
A horkolás sajnos olyan fegyver, ami egyszerre két irányba képes tüzelni. Egyrészt zavarhatja kedvesünket a nyugodt alvásban, így komoly párkapcsolati problémákhoz (eleinte külön alváshoz, később elhidegüléshez) vezethet. Másrészt a horkolás egy mélyebben gyökerező probléma tünete. A horkolás valójában egy olyan hangjelenség, amit az ellazult szövetek között átpréselt levegő produkál a lágyszájpad és a gégefő környékén. Azaz, a légutak beszűkültek, és ez idővel akár potenciális alvászavarhoz, alvási apnoéhoz is vezethet. Az alvási apnoénak két típusát ismerjük. Az obstruktív alvási apnoét a torok izmainak ellazulása hozza létre, a centrális alvási apnoe kialakulásáért pedig az agy felel. Esetenként a két típus együtt jelentkezik, ekkor komplex alvási apnoéról beszélünk.

Az alváskutatás nemzetközileg elismert szakemberei bebizonyították, hogy horkolás ellen a száj körüli izmok- és a garat izmainak tréningje kiemelkedően hatásos megoldás. Azokat az izmokat kell megcélozni, amelyek elgyengülése horkoláshoz vezet.
